DPP-Assignment Two; Corrections

Assignment Two – Corrections

I have made the following corrections as to my tutor’s feedback.

Street scenes;
I completely agree with the tutor on the last image in the is set, I had major difficulty with it and saw it in my minds eye a lot differently. As I can’t go back to take the same image, I will say what I think instead. I think if I had used spot metering, it would have worked better and focused more in the street, also, I would have lead down on the floor (no matter how dirty!) to get the shot that I wanted.

Back lit;
With regards to the last images, they probably didn’t challenge me as much, so I have decided to submit the following image;-

I decided to take this image as it was extremely difficult to achieve, I wanted to show the detail of the cobweb, with the spider only particularly showing and tried to do so by drowning it out with the sun, it took a really long time for me to get the desired result as the sun (obviously) kept moving and I had to do a lot of highlight clipping, as much as I could without blacking out the cobweb.

I’m really pleased with this image, especially the colours at the top of the actual web.

Reflective scene;-
Seeing what my tutor suggested, I’m gutted that I didn’t do what she suggested!. I have had a look at the images that I took, but to no avail, maybe next time?!

Dappled light;-
On reflection, I could have experimented a bit more with the dappled light scenes, I’m pleased my tutor is as happy as am I with the spatula shot, however, I understand where she is coming from, so, I have included this image, which I believe gives a stronger contrast of light.

Overall I am pleased with my feedback but it is clear I have a long way to go, I will continue to test myself, especially with the next assignment , which I’m really looking forward to.
